Same old same old

By Michael J. Smith on Wednesday June 18, 2008 09:01 PM

Sometimes there's something good on one of my lefty mailing lists, like the following:

> OBAMA CAMPAIGN announces 'Senior Working Group on National Security'
>
> --Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
> --Senator David Boren, former Chairman of the Senate Select Committee
> on Intelligence
> --Secretary of State Warren Christopher
> --Greg Craig, former director of the State Department Office of
> Policy Planning
> --Secretary of the Navy Richard Danzig
> --Representative Lee Hamilton, former Chairman of the House Foreign
> Affairs Committee
> --Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder
> --Dr. Tony Lake, former National Security Advisor
> --Senator Sam Nunn, former Chairman of the Senate Armed Services
> Committee.
> --Secretary of Defense William Perry
> --Dr. Susan Rice, former Assistant Secretary of State
> --Representative Tim Roemer, 9/11 Commissioner
> --Jim Steinberg, former Deputy National Security Advisor
>
> AP's Nedra Pickler reports: 'Obama also was meeting Wednesday with
> nearly 40 retired admirals and generals to discuss the state of the
> military and the challenges in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.'
My correspondent writes:
Madeleine Albright?

Warren Christopher?

William Perry?

Lee Hamilton?

Oh man, change is coming fast.

I'm so excited to see something so unique happening in my lifetime.

I'm also glad Clinton didn't win, she never would have picked new fresh faces like these!

I am A life long Democrat, and for the first time I wonder if any president has the Will, to bring real Change. I wish the Democratic party would give me reason to vote in November.

I too have voted nearly 100% Democrat my entire voting life. I am in my 60's, and for the first time I do not believe in the Democratic Party. The more I see and learn about Obama's voting record, his advisors, and the policies he supports, the more I doubt there will be any real meaningful change. Obama will probably be president, but where once I had hope with him, I sent monetary support to him during the primary. The hope I once had for real change with Obama has faded. I will not vote for Obama or support the Democratic Party any longer. Enough is enough. Same ole, same ole is not good enough.
