MoveOn's Mazzie: Crackpot Realist of 2005

By Michael J. Smith on Wednesday December 28, 2005 05:26 PM

The best stuff in the New York Times is always on the jump:
Tom Matzzie, the Washington director for MoveOn.org, a liberal advocacy group, suggested that the antiwar movement would potentially undercut its own message by waging what he said would be a hugely unsuccessful primary challenge against Mrs. Clinton.

"The case I would make is that 2006 needs to be a year of reckoning for Republicans on Iraq," he said. "If the antiwar candidate is creamed by Hillary Clinton, it's a distraction."

At last I've found something to agree with MoveOn about. I too don't think she should face a primary challenge -- I think we should turn her out in the general election.

Pat:

Maybe, just maybe, if enough people made a noise, Hillary would not bother contending.

All prowar candidates, Republican and Democrat, have to be challanged in the general election. Hillary could no more let go of power than a dog could stop chasing rabbits. She'll have to be pried out of office with "the jaws of life."

Tracy McLellan:

Hilary's ambitions are shameful. No political compromise or expediency that furthers her presidential ambitions will get in the way of any principle. Ecrasez l'infame indeed.

Steve Romer:

I am a soldier in Iraq and had called myself an democrat until they voted for this rediculous and illigal war.

I am no longer so, though. The fact that our country backed this war makes me seriously questions, again, our entire jury based justice system. People will beleive anything.

Hillary will never receive my support; in fact, I was spill the same vile about her as I do the tyrant and war criminal W.

Dennis Kucinich and other progressives need to resign from the democrat party and begin a new.
