The Implausibles

By Owen Paine on Wednesday August 16, 2006 02:41 PM

Okay, the decent interval is over. The tiny diva of Bridgeport has had ample time to strut his shameless stuff upon the public stage, after his swift and painless humiliation last week.

Now he must be put down coldly, professionally, and faster then a Jack Kennedy love tryst -- put down and carried off to the dissection table in a plastic seep-proof bag, like the rabid pussycat he is.

The time has come for the magnificent seven to ride into nutmeg land, and take that toon of a loon out -- yes, nothing less than the full heavy cream of the senatorial Democracy: Clinton Kerry Boxer Lautenburg Kennedy Biden and Obama.

And you better bring the hook and the butterfly net, gang -- this won't be easy. "Come on down from that tree, Joe -- come on -- folks is in a hurry now -- truck's a-waitin'."

But whatever it takes, I'd say shoot to kill (metaphorically, of course) -- but then, I'm mean. What ever you do, though, no matter how humane you must be, get him into secure custody now -- extraordinary political rendition.

PS -- This ain't happening yet -- and let me tell you, if it still doesn't, and Lamont the Negligible loses, the party of Marse Jeff is indeed doomed. Which will come as no surprise to 97% of this site's readership, I suspect.

JS, I think I detect a little confusion here. Lamont is a Democratic candidate, right? I thought we dont vote for Democrats anymore. I thought we dont waste our time getting involved in marital squabbles between the co-dependent couple next door.
Or is our anti-Democratic party line just a pose, a rhetorical trick, to scare them into acting better?

If I sound hostile, I dont mean it. Your vigilance on this issue is terrific, valuable and highly entertaining. I just wonder if you have fallen into the forgiveness trap that we all fall into, however tough we try to be.

read this and the facts look
pretty pretty plain

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/16/nyregion/16conn.html?th&emc=th

as of now no ride of the magnificent 7

the big hitters of donkery
are laying off lieb
hell
he might be too fierce to wrangle with

my my my

still not ready to be
the party of peace
and single payer health eh ???

if that's still so by november
and per chance mad joe wins ....

i predict the rubicon
will have been crossed
a mass exodus from
the sick party of america
will commence

bye bye jack ass
hello
brave new party free left
i know it'll end it for me

------------------
btw

i think
we need
to distinguish between prez races
and say one senate race

in a prez race
its all on the line

ie

a lamont type as he is now

is a no vote

he'd be a lesser as greater evil

but in a one out of 33 senate races

it seems we can allow niche voting
under special circs

to me beating loco joe like
a red headed mule
is worth doing

especially since the hunkos
and honchitas
not stepping forth quickly
to crush this rabid parlor cat
is one very obvious act of arrogance

a gauntlet thrown down
smack into the face of
the base

but
if he's whipped anyway...

if we can lite joe up

make him
a blazing scare crow

and we string around his neck

"you might be next boss "

there's something in that
for
any party big
to ponder

second btw
if i were ned i'd be sore as hell
if the bigs don't pound joe till he's ketchup
and pronto
take him out now
not let him get the BS stories like he gets here in the times

wake up ned

this is orthrian hard ball
give the bigs a short dead line date
then blow the bridges

Anonymous! You be careful, or JS might sue you for imitation !

I read the NY Times article, and I see your point. Some Dems, like Reid, are weasling, maybe afraid to seem to be endorsing Lamont's anti-war stand. But the article also says (or states it as the NY times' opinion) that Lamont now needs to calibrate his message to appeal to centrist voters.

I guess if I had spent a lot of time working for an anti-war candidate in my own state primary, and then he began to callibrate his message, I'd be pissed off too.

OK, I WILL NEVER, NEVER VOTE FOR A DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE AGAIN! I REALLY, REALLY MEAN IT, THIS TIME!

I wouldn't hold my water waiting for the big corporate dems to start campaigning for Lamont. He's a safe enough millionaire with his pro Let's Bomb Lebanon stance and "centrist" everthing else, but really, who in the dem sky boxes gives a rupee which dem wins in CT - so long as it's a dem?

Rowan:

At this point, I might be rooting for Lieberman to win as an indie/Republican, just so that the expression of political honesty causes heads to explode in DC.

MJS:

Rowan -- I'm similarly torn. G-d knows I'd love to see Vile Joe get his comeuppance; but then on the other hand that would reinforce the faith of the Democratic Party true-believers in the value and progressive possibilities of the institution. But rooting for Joe seems like the worse-the-better argument, which I tend to distrust.

At the end of the day, I can't really recommend that anybody vote for Lamont; he's just the lesser-lesser evil. Certainly his unqualified support for Israel's most recent Guernica stunt in Lebanon puts him beyond the pale for me; and if he's even further to the right on economic matters than Bernie Sanders, well then--!

The Democratic Party may end up letting me off the hook on this one, if, as I suspect, the party is really rooting for Joe and giving nothing more than lip service to Ned. This is not an unlikely scenario. There is, as they say, honor among thieves; and all these thieves have worked together and stolen together and lied together for a long, long time.

js paine:

i think father smiff has laid
his unholy pair of hands
on the two keys here

1) " faith "
in the donkery's
institutional
self correction mechanism
and

2) the hack reality
of a den of unremovable
top down control freak
orthrian thieves

---------------------

i think we all agree
the best out come would be a lamont win
despite....
smack in the face of
very obvious
party big timber types
heavy foot dragging
and winking at joementum

problem :

can this foot draggingand winking
and other forms of aid and abetting
be made
constant spot light material
and destroy the "faith"
of large numbers of
"base people "

message one:

this party's top core-folk
can't self correction
anymore then the dixiecrats could

they must be over thrownonce and for all
and chased from the party
like the jim crow ghouls
or abandoned for a new party
-----------------------------------
my take beat joe or no beat joe

'spokes people '
for nattering Ned
must shout " foul "
loud and clear
and name names
names that obviously
include
st hill and schoomzzz
