owen, hello, ..very distracted here with them setting up a stage just below my window , very folky neighbourhood ,( in song only mostly , i wish that they had a little more pete seeger of ways going on as well .. ) .. but is this fitting , of a comment that i left at io z last weekend - , " had thoughts of a .. dogs ..do blog .. now ( i said dogs don't blog to justin in a comment at some point in this past year , and io z was amused , ) ,of taking my subtitle back from io z , as i was revisiting something of your mitt en 's past with a couple of my nephews and one of my nieces .. over the weekend , .. . My condolences. So sorry to hear about pinky. I always had a hard time telling the two of you apart. Should be easier now. Must have been the horseradish mayo.

Condolences not needed. I know for a fact that Owen and Pinky couldn't *stand* each other. There was a conflict about the family business, an obscure chain of roadside cookshops in the Midwest, specializing in chicken-fried steak with white gravy. Pinky had some wild notion about salad bars, as I recall.

Pinky used to send me long emails with some crazy joke about "recipes for the cookshops the future". I didn't understand them and I said as much.
RIP, Pinky. I wish you'd had the chance to explain the joke. I guess I'll have to visit a salad bar in your memory.
