You’d have to be a real Grinch to disapprove, wouldn’t you?
Naturally I was glad to hear that the insane Supreme Court was nevertheless sane enough to overturn the infamous, and intensely insane, Defense Of Marriage Act. This makes a real difference in the lives of many people that I know and like, and countless others I don’t.
There’s no downside; it’s all good. Each of the Js who voted to overturn gets a good thousand years off his or her innumerable millennia in Purgatory.
More on this topic later but perhaps that will do for today. The gift horse came from a very disreputable stable, but a horse is a horse, of course, of course.
Disabled people living in group homes who will never get married. Single people by choice. Single people, economically or physically unsuccessful, not by choice. People whose partner died. Disabled people NOT living in group homes, but who will never get married.
Marriage is no longer applied racially very much, but it remains a stupid, expensive form of segregation. The country’s handicapped, widowed, and unattractive should stop having to subsidize billions of dollars of county registrars, licensing bureaus, and divorce courts, so that others can get godly approval for their fucking.
Yyyyyyyyesss! Thank you!
And to that, I can only add this little Blast From Yer Past… or, perhaps, just a Blast From Last Year.
Well, yes. I’ve been pondering for a while just what the state’s interest in marriage is, at least since the emancipation of women. I can’t think of one.

Yeah. Goes without saying — among ourselves, anyway.
One step closer to not having to pretend I care about marriage! w00t!
