http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/10/28/122722/94Seems that long-time Kosnik 'Jerome a Paris' is starting to find some of his fellow-cultists a little, well, reactionary:How long, you reckon, before he's banned?
Is DailyKos a rightwing website? This post has gotten, to date, almost 1300 comments. A random sample suggests that most of them are much like these:

Sat Oct 28, 2006 at 09:27:22 AM PDTWhenever I write about possible policy options that would be (partial) solutions to our looming crisis, there is always a noisy proportion of kossacks that complains that my proposal would unfairly hurt them, and that I don't understand about the USA, how big it is, or how necessary a car is for their job, or their shopping, or how wind would spoil their view, etc, ad nauseam.
Yes. What do you think 100000+ lefties are (21+ / 0-)Note the Lakoffian shamanism of "frames not names" in me-too's comment.gonna do once they've regained Congress and the Senate? Twiddle their thumbs? Right now we have a laser-like focus on one issue really - the upcoming elections. Once chimpy etal. are out of power, I can envision an explosion of activity in 'liberal' concerns.
And it's ALL good. :)

Clive's careful "I can envision" must surely reflect an understanding that can't quite be acknowledged. Yeah, Clive, I can "envision" it too, just like I can envision time travel or space aliens coming to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, but I'm not counting on it. Are you, really?

dKos is a narcissistic fascist. He so tightly controls the posts at his site, that he rules out important dissent and controversy.
He is nothing but another, but more well disguised, pawn of the folks who want not change, but only power.
Screw him.

I can tell that Thucydides quotin' fool what over a hundred thousand frustrated middle managers are going to do if the Dems win: attend zoning commission hearings, where the joys and property value ehancement of a pretty view will be vigorously defended.

...an explosion of activity in 'liberal' concerns.
Those quotation marks don't augur a liberal renaissance, do they.
The laser-like focus was a scorcher, too. I like to imagine the Kossacks as somewhat less than laptop Luke Skywalkers. More like lots of decaffinated Frodos, armed with Popiel Veg-a-Matics and DWR catalogs.
The good garcon's instincts are right. KOS and his liberals--make that 'liberals'--will hardly suffer left heresies if those impede their lifestyles or electability. Sure, a little aux barricades, comrades! talk is fine for a while. But careful: don't knock over my Latte Grande, ok? Dems, as Cindy Lauper might say, just wanna have fun.
Here in lovely, loony Minnesota, the drug war princess Amy Klobuchar is proof of that. Her direct mail crapola reached me last week declaring that, rather than allow Republicans to maintain Congress as a storefront for "elite" special interests, I should vote for her, and I'd get the garden variety instead.
Starting with a middle class tax cut, 'natch.

I absolutely fail to understand how so many thousands of dumbocrats can think that the same idiotic neoliberals who got us in to this sewer are gonna get us out.
Oh, well . . . when the Dems betray their base (Yuppycrats with 401s built in the '80s) the way the 'cons have betrayed their own . . . heh!!
Good boys
Good boys
Watcha gonna do
Watcha gonna do
When they run from you?

Oh wait! I'm "envisioning" something too! Yes, I can see it! A democrat majority in both houses! Enacting strict new environmental laws! Yes, they're curbing corporate abuses! Enacting universal single-payer healthcare! Reforming our electoral process! Passing a national IRV bill! With proportional representation! Can't you see it too? I can see it!
But wait, there's more! I'm envisioning new international initiatives promoting peace and stability throughout the Middle East! Yes, there it is! And now they're signing a nuclear arms reduction bill! And a landmine ban! Delcaring the US a nuclear free zone!
Yes yes yes I can see it all! And now democrat congressional staffers are spreading thoughout the land bringing peace and joy to all! Nancy Pelosi, riding a unicorn down Wall Street and passing out free Starbucks coupons to everyone! Oh what a beautiful, glittering vision!
And there's Chuck Schumer clad in robes of purest white! He's ascended unto the right hand of Obama! And now their granting telepathy and invisibility and other superpowers to everyone who voted for them! Oh, what a glorious democratic party vision! My eyes! My eyes!
